DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

 

The department focuses on imparting latest knowledge on application of basic and advanced concepts of electrical and electronic systems such as Electrical machines, Power electronics, Advanced control engineering, System analysis, Electronic circuits, Integrated circuits, Microprocessor, Signal processing, Measurements and instrumentation, etc.

LABORATORY DETAILS

 

ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY


The Electrical Machines laboratory has imparts the knowledge about characteristics and behavior of the DC and AC Machines. Well stablished with all kinds of motors, generators and latest Drives. This is the core lab for the Electrical Engineering branch and the ancillary for ECE, Computer Science, Information technology and Mechanical branches.


ELECTRICAL WORKSHOP


The Electrical laboratory Workshop is used to impart the practical knowledge to the students about the wiring, winding of transformers and machines. This workshop is established with the basic tools, machines and accessories and is very important not only for the students of Electrical Engineering branch but also for the students of other engineering branches.


POWER ELECTRONICS LABORATORY


The Power Electronics laboratory consists of different kinds of demo kits such as SCR characteristics, study kit for D.C motor control using chopper. The lab is equipped with all the power electronic converters, DSP and FPGA based DC and AC Drives, Digital Integrated kits, Power supplies etc, and with MATLAB and PSIM simulation software’s are available to perform simulation of power electronics circuits.

 

 

ELECTRONICS DESIGN LABORATORY


The ELECTRONICS DESIGN laboratory provides an opportunity for the student and the faculty members to carry out their project modules and research works. The lab is equipped with Software’s like MATLAB with Digital Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, Desktop PCs’ etc.


ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LABORATORY


The Devices and Circuits laboratory consists of different basic electronic devices like BJT, JFET, MOSFET, SCR, TRIAC, DIAC, Photo Diode & Transistors, etc., for conducting experiments relevant to electrical and electronic devices and circuits. This lab is adequately equipped with major devices for signal generation like function generators, signal generators and measuring devices like Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO), voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeter’s, millimeters etc., There are sufficient working tables with phase supply connections are available for conducting the experiments.


MICRO PROCESSOR & MICRO CONTROLLER LABORATORY


Micro Processor & Micro Controller Laboratory provides opportunity to the students to operate and apply the equipments and instruments for the development of the software and hardware of 8085 microprocessor. In the laboratory, there are 8085 microprocessor and 8051 microcontroller programmer kits, and interfacing devices such as ADC, DAC, stepper motor controller, traffic light controller, LED display interface and Keyboard interface devices.

 

MEASUREMENTS & INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY


Measurements & Instrumentation Laboratory which includes major equipment like dual trace oscilloscope, digital oscilloscope, bridge circuits etc., In addition calibration of various meters can also be performed.

 

EVENT CONDUCTED

 

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has conducted the “NATIONAL FRANCHISEE TRAINING PROGRAMME” with the support from ministry of power, Govt of India presents through CIRE/REC, TANGEDCO and sponsored by Hydro Training Institute-Bhavani during 24, 25 & 26th of May-2011.

 

 

A group of 40 Electrical students has involved in this programme which mainly focused on basic concepts of Transmission and Distribution, Energy saving, and controlling method of real time electrical conflicts.
